X-ray Industry's 'Number One' Company Successfully Attracts Dongnam-gu Industrial Complex in Gijang-gun Busan Gijang County Office.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The nation's top medical X-ray sensor manufacturer is set to establish a facility in the Dongnam Radiation Industrial Complex in Gijang-gun, Busan.

Gijang-gun announced on the 14th that it successfully attracted B2G Korea Co., Ltd., a power semiconductor and medical device specialist, to the Dongnam Radiation Medical and Scientific General Industrial Complex, and that a move-in agreement will be signed at the Dongnam Industrial Complex briefing room on the 16th.

B2G Korea Co., Ltd. (CEO Shin Jeong-hoon) is a semiconductor materials and device company established in 2009 in the metropolitan area. It is a technology-leading small and medium enterprise producing gallium nitride (GaN) power semiconductors applicable to electric vehicle power devices and supplying the nation's number one medical X-ray sensors.

The company holds numerous patents related to X-ray imaging sensors and actively conducts research and development in the gallium nitride (GaN) power semiconductor field in collaboration with national research institutes and universities specializing in semiconductor devices.

B2G Korea plans to build the world's first integrated production system from GaN wafers to power devices on approximately 2,400 pyeong (about 7,920 square meters) within the Dongnam Industrial Complex in Gijang-gun.

Gijang-gun has been conducting aggressive attraction activities to bring in such excellent companies.

On February 5, Gijang-gun Mayor Oh Gyu-seok personally led the Dongnam Industrial Complex corporate investment attraction briefing and site visits, demonstrating hands-on administration.

B2G Korea also opened its heart to the Dongnam Industrial Complex, where advanced radiation medical and scientific related industries are concentrated, through Gijang-gun’s persistent courting.

After two visits and consultations with Gijang-gun, the company finalized its intention to move in.

Mayor Oh Gyu-seok said, “I feel like flying after attracting a Korean power semiconductor company like B2G Korea,” adding, “We will realize the creation of a Dongnam power semiconductor industrial cluster by leveraging synergy effects with the power semiconductor commercialization center already established and operating in the Dongnam Industrial Complex.”

Mayor Oh boasted, “The Dongnam Industrial Complex has the advantage of excellent agglomeration effects of national projects and related industries while offering lower land prices compared to surrounding areas. Gijang-gun’s residential, transportation, cultural, and educational infrastructure is well developed, and the pleasant environment with forests and the sea is excellent.”

He also emphasized promotional efforts for attracting companies, saying, “Domestic and international power semiconductor-related companies will show greater interest in the Dongnam Industrial Complex.”

The Dongnam Industrial Complex is being developed by Gijang-gun on a 1.48 million square meter (about 450,000 pyeong) site in Jang-an-eup, with a military budget investment of 319.7 billion KRW.

Major advanced national projects underway within the complex include the development of export-oriented new research reactors, construction of a medical heavy ion accelerator treatment center, establishment of a radioactive isotope fusion research base, and creation of a power semiconductor industrial cluster.

It is expected to become a forward base of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, fostering small and medium enterprises and creating future growth industries for Korea.
