[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do recently opened the ‘Tourism Dure Sarangbang’ and held a business briefing session to recruit resident enterprises, completing preparations for promoting the Tourism Dure project, the county announced on the 14th.
The county was selected as a new project area this year through a public contest.
This Tourism Dure project, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, mainly aims to foster tourism-related businesses with unique local characteristics to start and manage their operations.
In this project, a Tourism Dure PD (Producer/Director) is selected from among local residents to support the formation and operation of resident communities and propose tourism business models. Jeong Ji-eun from Bukha-myeon has been in charge of the Tourism Dure PD duties for three years.
The county prepared the ‘Tourism Dure Sarangbang’ at the Pilamsuwon Jipseonggwan as a working space for the Tourism Dure PD and a communication space for resident enterprises, and recently held an opening ceremony.
Additionally, the county signed a business agreement with the Korea Tourism Organization to revitalize the Tourism Dure project and is steadily taking steps to ensure smooth project implementation.
The county is recruiting resident enterprises to participate in the Tourism Dure project until the 25th of this month. Eligible applicants are groups of three or more local residents who wish to start or improve tourism business management.
Selected groups will receive support such as educational tours, expert consulting, and promotion and marketing.
Yoo Doo-seok, the county governor, said, “The county is attracting attention with numerous excellent tourism resources such as Hwangryonggang River, Jangseongho Lakeside Trail, and Chukryeongsan Mountain,” adding, “Through this project, we hope to discover many resident enterprises that can rediscover the hidden value of villages and bring vitality to the region.”
