Changwon City Makes Every Effort to Create the 'Safest Changwon' in Summer

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 14th that it will implement a comprehensive summer countermeasure plan ahead of the full onset of the heatwave.

The city has formed a TF to promote the comprehensive summer countermeasures and prepared plans in four areas: health and hygiene management, life safety measures, inconvenience resolution measures, and energy-saving measures.

First, with increased activity during the summer and vacation season, the city plans to operate the COVID-19 quarantine system and do its best to prevent infections by supporting quarantine for vulnerable groups and multi-use facilities.

The city will conduct preliminary safety inspections of disaster-prone areas such as reconstruction and redevelopment construction sites within the jurisdiction.

In addition, to prepare for natural disasters, an emergency duty system will be organized and operated in six stages.

The city will strengthen the operation of the comprehensive water supply situation room to ensure stable tap water supply.

It also plans to prevent safety accidents and maintain a stable supply system by strengthening safety management and conducting preliminary inspections of gas supply facilities.

To prevent energy waste during the summer, energy-saving measures will be promoted in public institutions and the private sector, and efforts will be made to ensure stable power supply.

Mayor Heo Seong-mu stated, "We will strive to minimize anxiety, inconvenience, discomfort, and dissatisfaction in daily life so that all Changwon citizens can have a safe summer," adding, "In particular, we will make every effort to block the re-spread of COVID-19 and form herd immunity in the second half of the year."
