[ESG Management Era] Hyundai Motor Group Accelerates Production and Development of Eco-Friendly Vehicles Hyundai Motor Company collaborated with six global fashion brands last October to launch the upcycling fashion project RE:Style 2020, which utilizes automotive waste.

[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Hyundai Motor and Kia are accelerating the production and development of eco-friendly vehicles to overcome the environmental limitations of internal combustion engines and respond to the rapid growth of the eco-friendly car market, while carrying out various eco-friendly activities.

Jung Euisun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, stated in this year's New Year's address, "We must take 2021 as an important turning point that determines future growth and make thorough preparations to become the first mover of the new era."

To this end, Chairman Jung clearly expressed his intention to join the group’s executives and employees on a journey to expand dominance in the eco-friendly market, secure future technology capabilities, and strengthen the group’s business competitiveness.

Accordingly, Hyundai Motor Group has set a goal to firmly establish its position as a global leader in the eco-friendly market to expand its dominance in the eco-friendly sector.

Additionally, with the launch of new vehicles based on the recently announced electric vehicle-exclusive platform E-GMP, the group plans to offer more convenient and safer, as well as attractive eco-friendly mobility options that reflect customers’ diverse tastes and needs, at more reasonable prices.

Regarding the hydrogen sector, Hyundai will take the lead in realizing carbon neutrality by expanding the use of the brand ‘HTWO,’ which means hydrogen for humanity, as a power source for various mobility and industrial fields.

Hyundai Motor Group is also actively engaging in eco-friendly management activities outside the mobility sector. In October last year, Hyundai Motor collaborated with six global fashion brands to launch the upcycling fashion project RE:Style 2020, which utilizes automotive waste.

Now in its sixth year, the ‘2021 Longest Run’ is a representative eco-friendly campaign where participants can donate to forest creation projects for environmental protection by running, cycling, and other activities.
