Advanced Parallelization Combining RPA and Artificial Intelligence Technologies
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 14th that it has implemented robotic process automation (RPA) to automate 31 tasks at its branches in order to improve work efficiency and focus on core tasks.
Among these, 11 tasks have been automated to independently check and process work without separate RPA requests from employees, notifying employees only of the results, thereby automating repetitive tasks handled by staff. A representative example is the full automation of post-verification and electronic registration of changes related to real estate mortgage loan execution. The inconvenience of employees having to issue a certified copy of the register within a set deadline, verify changes, re-register the copy, and update the electronic records has been eliminated.
Other tasks requested by employees to RPA include ▲ payroll transfer or retirement pension registration for business partners ▲ sending the list of required documents to customers’ mobile phones upon request ▲ handling large-volume deposit and withdrawal transaction inquiry requests.
This automation was implemented by combining artificial intelligence technology beyond the limitations of RPA, which is typically applied only to simple repetitive tasks.
For example, the ‘Payroll Transfer Registration RPA Task’ applied with machine learning technology can automatically edit various forms of payroll transfer documents provided by customers to fit the internal system and register them, with employees only verifying the content and performing the final transfer transaction. Additionally, when employees want to convert content from voice or image files into text, they can request RPA, which then creates a text draft by integrating digital technology.
A KB Kookmin Bank official stated, “We will promote overall organizational work efficiency and enhance qualitative productivity through RPA to create an environment where employees can focus on their tasks,” adding, “We will continue to expand the application of RPA to branch tasks in the future to support improving the quality of customer consultations.”
