189 Seoul COVID-19 Cases Confirmed by 6 PM

[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 11th that the number of new COVID-19 cases in Seoul was tentatively counted at 189 over 18 hours from midnight to 6 p.m. on the same day.

This is 8 more than the 181 cases recorded during the same time period on the previous day, the 10th, and 51 fewer than the 240 cases on the same weekday last week (the 4th). The total daily confirmed cases were 204 on the 10th and 277 on the 4th.

Over the recent 15 days (May 27 to June 10), the average daily number of confirmed cases in Seoul was 190, with an average daily testing volume of 30,875 people, resulting in an average positivity rate of approximately 0.6%.

As of 6 p.m. on the day, among the new confirmed cases in Seoul, 187 were domestic infections and 2 were imported cases.

By cluster infections, there were 5 cases at the Songpa-gu Garak Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market, 3 cases at a workplace in Gangnam-gu, 2 cases at a high school in Gangbuk-gu, 1 case at a workplace in Jung-gu, and 1 case at a church in Gangbuk-gu. Other cluster infections accounted for 8 cases. Among new cases not separately managed as cluster infections, 90 were confirmed contacts of existing confirmed cases, and 57 cases are under investigation due to unclear infection routes.

As of this time, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Seoul stands at 46,285. The total number of confirmed cases for the day will be finalized as of midnight on the 12th and announced in the morning.
