30 Days Until the 14th... Open Art Contest Using Official Character 'Ttota'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul Metro announced on the 13th that it will hold the Seoul Metro ‘Ttota’ Illustration Contest for the first time this year, inviting creative drawings featuring the various charms of the Seoul subway using the corporation’s official character, ‘Ttota.’
The submission period is 30 days, from the 15th to July 14. Any citizen interested in Ttota and the subway can participate. Only individuals, not groups or teams, are allowed to apply.
There is no specific theme for the contest, but Ttota must be included in the drawing. Aside from that, the overall content can be freely expressed as long as it does not violate public order or good morals. Each person can submit up to two entries, with only one submission allowed during the contest period, and no modifications are permitted after submission.
The total prize money for the contest is 6 million KRW, and winners will receive the prize money along with a Ttota doll as a prize. The results will be announced after judging according to the schedule, in September, via the corporation’s website and individual notification to the winners. Outstanding works that win awards will be used as needed in various promotional materials of the corporation in the future and will also be exhibited to subway users using exhibition spaces and lighting advertisements within stations.
Jung Seon-in, head of the Public Relations Office at Seoul Metro, said, “We hope participants will creatively and enjoyably depict the safe and convenient Seoul subway using the bright and cheerful character Ttota.”
