Gangseo-gu Hosts 154th Online Gangseo Knowledge Vitamin Lecture... Dr. Choi Jae-cheon Invited for 'Ecological Vaccine for New Humanity in the COVID Era'... Available on 'Gangseo-gu Office YouTube Channel' Until June 19
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Plague, SARS, H1N1, MERS, and COVID-19?diseases evolve and pandemics repeat.
Is there a more fundamental universal vaccine than vaccine injections?
Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Noh Hyun-song) announced that it will hold the 154th online Gangseo Knowledge Vitamin lecture under the theme "Ecological Vaccine for the New Humanity in the COVID-19 Era."
This lecture was prepared to reflect on the current life thrown into chaos by the COVID-19 crisis and to share wise coping strategies for a future society where new infectious diseases may emerge.
Professor Choi Jae-chun, the founding director of the National Institute of Ecology, will be the lecturer.
As Korea's top ecologist, Professor Choi will propose new ways of living to cope with infectious disease outbreaks caused by human destruction of nature, ecosystem damage, and climate change through his lecture.
He will also explain the "ecological vaccine" that coexists with nature and the "behavioral vaccine" that makes social distancing a daily habit, providing time to contemplate with residents on how to prepare for the post-COVID era.
The lecture, which started on the 10th, can be watched without prior registration on the Gangseo-gu Office YouTube channel until the 19th.
A district official said, "This will be a valuable time to relieve anxiety and curiosity about the post-COVID era through lectures by Korea's leading scholars," adding, "As it is a meaningful opportunity to look into the present and future of our society, we hope many residents will show interest and participate."
The Knowledge Vitamin lecture series has been a long-standing cultural program in Gangseo-gu since 2007 and has been conducted online since April this year to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
