[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] Wavve, a leading domestic online video service (OTT), will exclusively release 22 episodes from seasons 1 to 3 of the comedy drama "Urban Myths," which adapts incidents related to celebrities, on the 11th.
According to Wavve, the Urban Myths series is an omnibus-style work that covers anecdotes of world-famous figures such as entertainers, politicians, and sports stars in each episode.
First aired on the UK’s Sky Arts channel in January 2017, Urban Myths gained great popularity and aired up to season 4 last year. It was also recognized for its quality, being nominated for Best Drama at the 45th International Emmy Awards in 2018.
The first episode introduces the story of legendary American folk singer Bob Dylan visiting London to meet his friend and musician Dave Stewart. In addition, viewers can see famous figures such as Muhammad Ali, Madonna, Paul McCartney, Adolf Hitler, and Marilyn Monroe.
Wavve emphasized that viewers can experience real incidents and anecdotes by following the makeup and acting of look-alike actors playing celebrities and the amusingly adapted stories.
Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter series, appeared in the Hitler episode, and Aidan Gillen, who appeared in Game of Thrones and Bohemian Rhapsody, starred in the episode about famous actor Cary Grant.
Meanwhile, Wavve is releasing various genres of overseas series for monthly subscribers, including "New Pope," "Young Rock," "Ajameiraedeungni," and "Resident Alien."
