[Asia Economy Reporter Bae Kyunghwan] The High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Agency (Gong-su-cheo) has launched an investigation into former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, who has emerged as a leading presidential candidate.
According to the legal community on the 10th, Gong-su-cheo officially registered and is investigating former Prosecutor General Yoon on charges including abuse of authority on the 4th.
Yoon's charges are reportedly related to the so-called 'Optimus case' non-prosecution and obstruction of investigation and prosecution in the case of former Prime Minister Han Myeong-sook's alleged perjury coaching.
Gong-su-cheo notified the Judicial Justice Restoration Citizens' Action (Sasehaeng), which submitted the complaint related to this case, of these facts. Earlier, Sasehaeng had filed a complaint with Gong-su-cheo against former Prosecutor General Yoon and others on charges including abuse of authority.
