Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Holds Smart Energy Platform Business Briefing Session


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Min-sik, hereinafter referred to as the Authority) announced on the 9th that it held a business briefing session for companies located in the Gwangyang Port hinterland area wishing to participate in the Smart Energy Platform project promoted by the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (Chairman Kim Jeong-hwan, hereinafter referred to as the Corporation).


The Smart Energy Platform is an online-offline platform centered on factory energy management systems aimed at improving factory energy efficiency.


The project was promoted to establish a collaborative system between the Authority and the Corporation, to independently discover and implement Korea New Deal tasks by the Authority, and to foster win-win cooperation with companies located in the Gwangyang Port hinterland area.


The briefing session proceeded in the order of ▲ introduction of new ICT technologies such as measuring instruments and cloud ▲ sharing cases of Smart Energy Platform construction ▲ guidance on business progress procedures for tenant companies and support details from the Authority and the Corporation.


Through this project, the Authority expects to establish a collaborative system with various port stakeholders including the Authority, the Corporation, and tenant companies in the port hinterland area, and to create opportunities for generating environmental and social value through the introduction of new technologies.


President Cha Min-sik said, “In order to quickly adapt to rapidly changing environments such as COVID-19, cooperation between the Authority and tenant companies in the port hinterland area is more urgent than ever,” adding, “We will take the lead in enhancing the manufacturing competitiveness of tenant companies in the Gwangyang Port hinterland area and transforming the port into a self-sufficient cargo-generating port through various cooperative projects including the Smart Energy Platform project.”
