[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] Korea FPSB announced on the 9th that 79 people passed the 39th Certified Financial Planner (CFP) qualification exam held last month.
The total number of applicants was 259, an increase of 23 compared to last year's exam. By industry, university students accounted for the largest portion at 31.5%, followed by insurance (24.6%), general (23.4%), banking (7.7%), securities (5.6%), and financial planning (4.4%). Notably, the proportion of applicants in the general category increased by 9 percentage points.
The financial company that stood out was Samsung Life Insurance. Among 44 applicants from Samsung Life Insurance, 18 passed, recording a pass rate of 40.9%, exceeding the overall pass rate of 31.9%. Among the top 20 passers (22 people), 12 were from Samsung Life Insurance.
The top scorer in the general category was Joo Young-ha (32) from Samsung Life Insurance, and in the university category, Jeong Won-jo (24) from Dankook University. The youngest and oldest passers were Jang Yoo-jin (23) from Inha University and Park Heung-gi (51), respectively.
