[Stones and Stories]Sinopex Surges as Water Treatment Filter Manufacturing Gains Spotlight Amid Push for Korea's Largest Seawater Desalination Project

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Sinopex is showing strength following news that the country's largest industrial project, the 'Daesan Coastal Industrial Area Industrial Water Supply (Seawater Desalination) Construction Project,' is being actively promoted after three years.

As of 9:58 AM on the 9th, Sinopex is trading at 3,870 KRW, up 3.06% compared to the previous trading day.

According to industry sources on the day, Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-Water) is reportedly proceeding with a project to build a seawater desalination plant to supply industrial water to the Daesan Industrial Complex, a chemical industrial complex.

As a result, Sinopex is attracting attention for the possibility of directly benefiting as a water treatment filter manufacturer.

The domestic water treatment filter industry is excited with expectations as this project is the largest in the country and the first publicly led seawater desalination project. Due to the movement toward localization of materials, the likelihood of domestic filters being selected has increased.

Additionally, domestic water treatment filter companies are expected to use this supply as a foothold to advance into overseas water treatment businesses.

Meanwhile, Sinopex is a nanotechnology materials and components specialized company engaged in industrial membrane filters, water treatment membrane filters, and water treatment businesses.
