K Shopping Launches Simultaneous Live Broadcast on Mobile and TV Apps

K Shopping Launches Simultaneous Live Broadcast on Mobile and TV Apps K Shopping will be the first in live commerce to simultaneously broadcast live on both mobile and TV apps.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] K Shopping announced on the 9th that it will launch the first simultaneous live broadcast on both mobile and TV apps in live commerce.

This service signifies the implementation of an advanced interactive TV commerce platform, enhancement of customer trust through rigorous product verification based on TV home shopping standards, and expansion of sales channels for small and medium-sized enterprises through simultaneous live broadcasts on mobile and TV.

The T-commerce channel has provided interactive services through a screen composed of prerecorded main broadcasts and a TV app where viewers can select programs or view product information using a remote control. The TV app, a unique differentiated area of T-commerce, has offered various product searches, replay of broadcasts, and special exhibitions, but this is the first time live broadcasting has been implemented.

Furthermore, simultaneous live broadcasts on mobile and TV apps are expected to increase customer trust by offering not only the fun of live content but also carefully selected products that have undergone strict quality inspection and management typical of TV home shopping. From the seller's perspective, significant effects are expected in terms of expanding product sales channels. In fact, sales increased more than tenfold when broadcasts were aired simultaneously on TV compared to mobile live broadcasts alone on K Shopping.

The simultaneous live broadcast on mobile and TV apps will debut at 11 a.m. on the 10th and will feature Seoul Award products, which are excellent products from domestic small and medium-sized enterprises selected by the Seoul Business Agency. It will sell Okdongsik Dakgomtang, a chicken soup restaurant selected as a Michelin Guide Seoul favorite for four consecutive years up to this year, and Sangwadeul’s One Day Signature Noble and Royal, which are filled with eight types of premium nuts needed daily.

Jung Ki-ho, CEO of KTH, said, “Through simultaneous live broadcasts on mobile and TV apps, we aim to enhance customer value and contribute to mutual growth by expanding distribution channels for local governments and small and medium-sized enterprises.” He added, “We will continue to increase the frequency of TV app live broadcasts and advance services for customer convenience.”
