[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Sambutogeon announced on the 8th that it has won the contract for the Gulpo Stream Ecological River Restoration Project in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon Metropolitan City.

This project, commissioned by the Korea Environment Corporation, involves restoring the ecological river and installing sewage pipelines along the section from Bupyeong-dong Administrative Welfare Center to the confluence with Sangok Stream in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon (1.5 km). The total construction cost is 25 billion KRW, with Sambutogeon's share being 51%, a contract amount of 12.8 billion KRW, and a construction period of 1,080 days from the start date.

This restoration project is a large-scale initiative to remove the covered section from Bupyeong 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center to Bupyeong-gu Office and restore the original waterway. Upon completion, it is expected to contribute to the recovery of aquatic ecosystem health and securing biodiversity.

By section, Section 1 will be developed as an ecological and cultural experience zone, Section 2 as an ecological observation and exploration zone, and Section 3 as a natural ecological restoration zone, creating urban resting areas and waterfront spaces linked to Bupyeong's cultural resources.
