Jinju City Hall Track and Field Team Athlete Joharim Wins Two Titles at KBS National Track and Field Competition

3,000m SC Event New Competition Record Set

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam announced that track and field athlete Jo Harim from the city's athletics team won gold medals in the 3000m and 1500m events at the KBS Cup National Athletics Competition held from the 3rd to the 7th at Yecheon Public Stadium in Yecheon-gun, Gyeongbuk, achieving a double crown at the competition.

In particular, athlete Jo set a new competition record in the 3000m event with a time of 10 minutes 30.34 seconds.

The Jinju City Hall athletics team also elevated the city's prestige by winning one gold medal and one silver medal at the national competition held last May.

Jo Gyu-il, mayor of Jinju City, congratulated, saying, "I am proud and grateful for the excellent results in consecutive national competitions," and added, "We will continue to actively support the athletes so they can focus solely on training."

Cheon Hyeong-cheol, the director leading the athletics team, expressed gratitude, stating, "Thanks to the active support from Jinju City and the Jinju City Sports Council, as well as the close support from the Gyeongnam Sports Industry Promotion Center during the competition, we were able to achieve good results."

Meanwhile, the Jinju City Hall athletics team will participate in the 50th National Age Group Athletics Championships held in Iksan, Jeonbuk, starting from the 13th, aiming to hunt for more medals.
