Establishing a Citizen-Centered Public-Private Collaborative Gender Governance Network

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] On the 7th, Changwon City in Gyeongnam held the launch ceremony of Changwon City Gender Governance 'Igenderpyeongdeunghanchangwon' and held a meeting to revitalize the women-friendly city.

'I(Equality)-Gender Equal Changwon' is the name of a gender governance organization based on public-private cooperation partnership, expressing the will to realize a gender-equal society that citizens can feel through trust and communication.

Changwon City Gender Governance has promoted gender equality fund projects and citizen roundtable discussions together with the city, but through this launch ceremony, it has officially started as a collaborative partner.

The city formed 'Igenderpyeongdeunghanchangwon' with 13 organizations including the Changwon Women's Community as part of the second phase designation of women-friendly city.

The term of office is 5 years, the period of the second phase designation of women-friendly city, from 2021 to 2025.

'Igenderpyeongdeunghanchangwon' plans to cooperate in proposing citizen-experienced women's policies, discovering women-friendly city creation projects and gender mainstreaming policies, monitoring women's policies and public facilities, and education and promotion to improve awareness of women-friendly cities.

Jeong Hyeran, the second vice mayor, said, "I hope that the city and 'Igenderpyeongdeunghanchangwon' will build an organic cooperative relationship to create a gender city petition where all citizens are happy for the creation of a women-friendly city."
