[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seong Jang-hyun, mayor of Yongsan-gu, visited the remodeling site of the former Cheongpa 2-dong office (Cheongparo 43-gil 17) on the 7th to inspect the facilities.
This is part of the 2021 On-site Visiting Mayor's Office initiative.
The former Cheongpa 2-dong office building, constructed in 1986, is a three-story building above ground with one basement level, covering a total floor area of 571.88㎡. It currently houses social organizations such as the Barugesalgi Movement Council, the Korea Freedom Federation Seoul Yongsan-gu Branch, the Korea Yongsan Cultural Artists Federation, and the Seoul Metropolitan City Senior Citizens Association Yongsan-gu Chapter.
This construction project aims to reinforce the building's seismic performance and improve aging facilities. It will be carried out over five months from July to November.
Seong Jang-hyun, mayor of Yongsan-gu, stated, “Since the 2nd, we have been operating the on-site mayor's office to complete all remaining local pending projects. The answer lies on site. We will diligently visit the sites and resolve inconveniences faced by residents and organizations.”
The on-site visiting mayor's office will continue until the 30th. Planned visits include the urban regeneration symbolic street creation around Hyochang Park, road expansion work in front of Namsan Daerim Apartments, pedestrian-friendly street development around Hannam Station, installation of convenience facilities for pedestrian overpasses at Hannam Five-way Intersection, and the creation of resident-priority parking lots on leftover land in Seobinggo-dong.
