Jinhae Library Operates 'Bookstart' Parent Education Program

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Jinhae and Dongbu Libraries in Gyeongnam announced on the 7th that they will operate the 2021 'Bookstart Parent Education' program for caregivers of infants and toddlers.


Bookstart is a community cultural movement program that helps babies and parents form a rich relationship through picture books.


The Bookstart project includes 'distribution of Bookstart book packages' and 'Bookstart follow-up programs.' Parent education is conducted as a follow-up program of Bookstart.


The Bookstart Parent Education will be held over four sessions in four days, excluding Wednesday, from the 21st to the 25th.


On the 21st, instructor Kim Dongheon will give a lecture titled 'Understanding Bookstart? Reading Picture Books for Happiness,' and on the 22nd, instructor Lee Sujeong will lecture on 'Social Parenting (Co-parenting) through Bookstart.'


On the 24th, instructor Choi Eunhee will give a lecture titled 'What is a Good Children's Book? - Encountering Children's Books,' and on the 25th, children's book author Park Chaeran will present 'Discovering Our Child's Artistic Sensibility through Picture Books.'


Applications can be made through the Jinhae Library website starting from the 9th, and the course is free of charge.
