Handmade Market 'Idus' Surpasses 500 Billion KRW in Cumulative Transactions

Cumulative Transactions Exceed 500 Billion KRW in 7 Years of Service
Monthly Transaction Volume Surpasses 20 Billion KRW in April and May... Cumulative Orders Reach 15 Million

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheolhyun] Backpacker (CEO Kim Donghwan) announced on the 7th that the online handmade market 'Idius' has surpassed a cumulative transaction amount of 500 billion KRW in just 7 years of service.

Idius, which started in 2014 with about 100 domestic handcrafted artists, has expanded its categories from accessories and interior products to fashion, handmade food, and agricultural and marine products. The cumulative app downloads have reached 13 million, with 4 million monthly active users (MAU). Notably, the repurchase rate within a month reaches 80%, and the Net Promoter Score (NPS) conducted with 3,600 customers recorded 63 points, demonstrating high customer loyalty.

Based on this, Idius has been recording sales growth of up to twice the previous year annually. Last month, it surpassed a cumulative transaction amount of 520 billion KRW and 13 million cumulative orders, while the donations customers have given to sellers also reached a cumulative 1 billion KRW. In April, taking advantage of the Family Month demand, Idius recorded its highest monthly transaction amount of 21.4 billion KRW and 660,000 orders, and in May, it continued its strong growth by exceeding 20 billion KRW in monthly transactions.

Currently, Idius hosts over 24,000 artists active in various fields such as leather crafts, fashion accessories, ceramics, interior items, natural soaps, handmade food, and pet snacks, showcasing more than 330,000 works. Since last year, it has offered 'Idius Online Classes' where resident artists teach directly, providing over 3,000 video lectures across 150 diverse classes including woodworking, metalwork, glass crafts, fine arts, cooking, floral design, and beauty. Recently, to raise awareness of clothing design as an artist’s creation and support the sale of designer clothing with unique stories, Idius launched a new 'Clothing & Homewear (Fashion)' category.

Kim Donghwan, CEO of Backpacker, said, "We have worked hard to support artists' unique creative activities and introduce various works to customers through Idius. We will continue to do our best to ensure that the unique value of handmade products is well conveyed to customers."
