Hyundai Motor Wins N?rburgring Endurance Race, Showcasing 'Solid Durability' The Elantra N TCR (domestic name: Avante N TCR) running in the N?rburgring 24-hour endurance race


[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Hyundai Motor Company's high-performance brand N demonstrated solid durability by winning the N?rburgring 24 Hours endurance race in Germany.


Hyundai announced on the 7th that three cars participated in the '2021 N?rburgring 24 Hours Endurance Race (ADAC TOTAL 24h Race)' held from the 5th to the 6th at the N?rburgring circuit located in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, and secured 1st and 2nd place in the TCR (Touring Car Racing) class.


The participating models were from the high-performance brand N lineup: Elantra N TCR (domestic name Avante N TCR), i30 N TCR, and i20 N. The Elantra N TCR and i30 N TCR took 1st and 2nd place respectively in the TCR class. Their overall rankings were 32nd, 33rd, and 89th respectively.


Hyundai emphasized that despite the Elantra N TCR's first participation in the N?rburgring 24 Hours endurance race, it won its class and ranked 32nd overall, showcasing solid durability and overwhelming driving performance.


Accordingly, Hyundai's high-performance brand N has set a record of successfully finishing the N?rburgring 24 Hours endurance race for six consecutive years since 2016.

During the same period, Hyundai not only participated in the N?rburgring 24 Hours endurance race but also demonstrated the performance of the N brand to the fullest in global motorsport competitions.


Before the N?rburgring 24 Hours endurance race, Hyundai achieved a double podium by taking 1st and 2nd place in the second final race of the opening round of the global top-tier touring car competition, the ‘2021 WTCR (World Touring Car Cup)’, held at the same venue.


The Elantra N TCR took 1st place (Engstler Hyundai N Liqui Moly Racing Team, Yannick Vernay) and 2nd place (Engstler Hyundai N Liqui Moly Racing Team, Luca Engstler) in the second final of the WTCR opening round.


Additionally, Thierry Neuville of the Hyundai World Rally Team took 3rd place and stood on the podium at the 5th round of the ‘2021 WRC (World Rally Championship)’ held on the island of Sardinia, Italy.
