[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] OK Savings Bank announced on the 7th that it conducted financial education for the elderly at the Seoul Municipal Seongbuk Senior Welfare Center.
The education held on the 24th was designed to prevent financial fraud and protect the rights and interests of financial consumers, targeting financially vulnerable groups. The sessions covered the importance of managing identification cards and smartphones, the definition and cases of voice phishing, and methods to prevent financial fraud. It also addressed how to respond after voice phishing damage occurs, including how to apply for payment suspension.
Jung Gil-ho, CEO of OK Savings Bank, said, “We are continuously conducting financial education to resolve information asymmetry among financially vulnerable groups and prevent financial accidents,” adding, “We hope this education was accessible and practically useful for financially vulnerable groups.”
