100 Days of COVID-19 Vaccination in Jungnang-gu... Progressing Smoothly

100 Days of COVID-19 Vaccination in Jungnang-gu... Progressing Smoothly Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu (right), took a commemorative photo with Lee Soon-dan, the first vaccination recipient in Jungnang-gu, at the Jungnang-gu Public Health Center on February 26.

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] As it marks 100 days since the start of COVID-19 vaccinations in Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi), the vaccination process is progressing smoothly thanks to the residents' cooperative efforts.

As of June 1, a total of 47,379 residents, equivalent to one in eight, have received their first dose. If 100,000 residents are vaccinated by the end of June, one in four residents will be secured safety from COVID-19.

The district currently operates a vaccination center at Jungnang Cultural and Sports Center (72-47 Sagajeong-ro 72-gil), and has carefully arranged transportation and dedicated personnel by neighborhood to facilitate visits for the elderly.

Starting July 1, a second vaccination center will be established in the first-floor lobby and central plaza of the district office, where vaccinations will be administered to those aged 18 to 59, excluding the elderly.

With incentives provided to vaccine recipients, the number of vaccinated individuals is expected to increase further. Those who have received the first dose are currently exempt from the family gathering limit of up to eight direct relatives, and upon completing the second dose, they can participate in active programs such as singing classes and physical training.

From July onward, the outdoor mask-wearing mandate will be lifted, and restrictions on religious activities and the use of multi-use facilities will be eased.

Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “I thank the residents who have diligently followed mask-wearing and quarantine rules for about 500 days since the outbreak of COVID-19,” adding, “We will overcome COVID-19 together with thorough quarantine and safe vaccinations.”
