"June is the Month of Patriots and Veterans"... Patriotic Marketing in the Distribution Industry Lotte has supported a total of 57 Youth Bookstores over the past six years, including 51 Army locations and 6 Air Force locations.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] The distribution industry is carrying out various support projects and marketing activities in June, the month of honoring veterans and national defense.

According to the industry on the 5th, Lotte Group is conducting support projects for military personnel and their families. Lotte Holdings, Lotte Confectionery, and Korea Seven will deliver snack boxes worth approximately 55 million KRW to about 2,000 soldiers involved in quarantine support and vaccine transportation to overcome COVID-19.

Lotte Holdings also supports the newly established "Proud Army Family Award" this year, targeting spouses of soldiers and military workers who have served diligently at the Army Headquarters. They select 100 people annually and provide prize money and gifts. From this month, soldiers on leave holding a leave pass can use Lotte World Adventure free of charge for one year. Active-duty officers, military workers, cadets, and officer candidates in the ROTC (including companions) receive a 50% discount.

GS Retail, together with the Veterans Affairs Office, launched a month-long campaign titled "Gratitude Passed Through Memory" to raise awareness of the Korean Volunteer Student Soldiers in Japan. The Korean Volunteer Student Soldiers in Japan refer to 642 Korean youths and students who voluntarily enlisted in the military from Japan despite having no military service obligation when the Korean War broke out in June 1950.

At GS Retail’s GS25, GS The Fresh, and GS Fresh Mall, customers who purchase products will receive a badge modeled after the insignia of the Volunteer Student Soldiers during the Korean War. Additionally, if individuals handwrite the phrase "We remember the Korean Volunteer Student Soldiers who participated in the Korean War" and post it on their personal social media (SNS), 6,420 KRW per post will be donated to national veterans and their families. A video promoting the Korean Volunteer Student Soldiers in Japan is also being distributed.

11st is conducting a customer participation event called ‘Thanks! Korea Heroes’ to send messages of gratitude to those who have dedicated themselves to the country. This event can be easily accessed on the monthly People page. Participants select their own hero to whom they want to express thanks and post a message of support. Posts that resonate can be liked to show encouragement. 11st offers participating customers a chance to win SK Pay points (up to 1,000 points) and will additionally award 100,000 SK Pay points each to 10 customers whose posts receive the most likes through a draw.
