[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Choyoung] Former People Power Party Emergency Committee Chairman Kim Jong-in commented on the so-called 'Lee Jun-seok whirlwind' sweeping through the People Power Party on the 3rd, saying, "We need to think about how to politically interpret the fact that the general public is giving absolute support."

After finishing a lecture at Kyungpook National University that day, Kim made this remark when asked by reporters, "What do you think about the Lee Jun-seok whirlwind?"

Kim explained, "We should not simply think about the meaning of obtaining 51% in a general public opinion poll," adding, "Although Lee Jun-seok has been in politics for the past 10 years, he has never served as a lawmaker. This directly reflects how much the public's perception of politicians has changed."

Regarding the question, "Lee has no experience, but you, former Chairman Kim, do. If he asks for help, are you willing to assist?" Kim replied, "Since he is running for party leader, if Lee becomes the leader, he will have his own ideas on how to proceed. I have nothing to say about that."

Meanwhile, according to a public opinion poll conducted by Hangil Research and released on the 28th at the request of Cookie News, 42.6% of respondents chose Lee Jun-seok as their preferred candidate for the People Power Party leader.
