Tongyeong City, Popular Agricultural Machinery Mobile Repair and Education Visiting Island Villages

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Tongyeong City in Gyeongnam announced on the 3rd that, together with the Gyeongsangnam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services, it conducted on-site repairs and safety education in island villages where agricultural machinery repairs are difficult during the farming season.

This mobile repair and safety education team was composed of two agricultural machinery instructors from the Agricultural Research and Extension Services, one city hall official, and one support staff member, repairing and educating on the most commonly used machinery per farm, such as walking tractors, cultivators, brush cutters, and sprayers.

To minimize the burden on farmers, consumable parts costing less than 50,000 KRW were provided free of charge, receiving favorable reviews.

An official from the Agricultural Technology Center stated, “To prevent the increasing number of agricultural machinery traffic and safety accidents each year, we will do our best to reduce various accidents by providing safety driving education for each type of machine and attaching safety devices.”
