Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Wins Order for 3 Crude Oil Tankers Worth 220.5 Billion KRW

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, the shipbuilding holding company of Hyundai Heavy Industries Group, announced on the 2nd that it has signed a construction contract for three 157,000-ton large crude oil carriers with a European shipping company.

The contract amount is approximately 73.5 billion KRW per vessel, totaling 220.5 billion KRW. The vessels ordered this time are 270 meters long, 46 meters wide, and 24 meters high, and will be built at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in Yeongam, Jeollanam-do, and are scheduled to be delivered sequentially starting from the second half of 2023. As of this year, Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has secured orders for 125 vessels (including 2 offshore units), worth 11 billion USD, achieving 74% of the annual order target of 14.9 billion USD.
