Opening of Vaccination Center 2 at Gimhae City Yulha Gymnasium ... Accelerating Increase in Vaccination Rate

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gyeongnam Gimhae City opened the COVID-19 Vaccination Center 2 at Yulha Gymnasium on the 3rd to accelerate the vaccination rate improvement.


Currently, the center is vaccinating seniors aged 75 and older, and the entrusted medical institutions have been vaccinating those aged 65 to 74 since the 27th of last month.


The total vaccination target population in Gimhae City is about 300,000 people aged 18 and over, and as of the 2nd, 45,470 people (15.1%) have received the first dose, and 13,583 people (4.5%) have completed the second dose.


Focusing only on seniors aged 75 and older, out of 23,572 eligible people, 21,668 (91.9%) have completed the first dose, and 8,879 (37.6%) have completed the second dose.


Citizens aged 60 and over, who belong to the high-risk group, can make reservations by the 3rd during the pre-registration period through the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency’s ‘COVID-19 Vaccination Pre-Reservation System’ website, call center, or by visiting nearby eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare centers for assistance with reservations. Proxy reservations by children are also possible.


Mayor Heo Seong-gon urged, “Please actively participate in vaccination so that we can escape from COVID-19 and return to our previous daily lives.”
