[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Cho] KT Skylife announced on the 3rd that it will provide about 3,000 core contents of KT Kidsland free of charge through its own VOD service. Following the recent announcement of a partnership plan with Netflix, the addition of Kidsland further strengthens its content lineup.
Accordingly, Skylife Android set-top box customers can now easily enjoy popular Kidsland content through the VOD home menu. Kidsland is KT Group's kids VOD service targeting infants to lower-grade elementary school children.
Skylife recently decided to reinforce its content by collaborating with KT Kidsland, which offers the largest amount of kids content in Korea, due to the increased demand for educational content that children can learn from while playing at home amid COVID-19. About 3,000 Kidsland contents were added to the existing 10,000 children-targeted VOD contents provided by Skylife, totaling approximately 13,000 titles.
The English playground menu, organized mainly around the English textbook "Scholastic," adopted by over 80% of U.S. public schools, consists of ▲U.S. English curriculum, ▲Sing in English, and ▲Character English play, allowing children to become more familiar with English content.
Additionally, "Kidsland Storybooks" read by parenting mentor Dr. Eunyoung Oh, "Pororo Encyclopedia of Nature" for learning about dinosaurs and animals, English song content from popular characters like "Pinkfong," and about 600 English videos of the popular YouTube content "Little Baby Bum," which has 36 million subscribers worldwide, will be provided free of charge sequentially.
Kim Cheolsu, CEO of Skylife, said, “As demand for kids content enjoyed at home has increased due to COVID-19, we have introduced Kidsland, KT Group’s representative kids service. We will continue to build a group-level cooperation system and strengthen a diverse content lineup that customers want.”
