[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Sooyoung) is providing incentives to seniors who have completed their COVID-19 vaccinations to help overcome the pandemic and support the return to daily life.
First, at senior cafeterias, where indoor dining had been prohibited and only lunch boxes and simple meals were provided, seniors who have completed their second dose of the vaccine will be able to enjoy a warm lunch at the cafeteria starting June 7.
At local senior community centers and welfare centers, popular indoor programs such as singing classes will be fully resumed from July for seniors who have completed their vaccinations, while adhering to quarantine rules such as wearing masks and ventilation.
Additionally, the district will support education on the use of electronic vaccination certificates so that seniors can make good use of them. Facilities related to seniors and local community centers will actively provide education on installing and using the mobile app (COOV) with the help of volunteer camp volunteers, enabling seniors to receive various incentives such as government-supported discounts.
Kim Sooyoung, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, stated, “Serving warm meals prepared with care at senior cafeterias and revitalizing senior leisure and welfare facilities will be a great first step toward returning to the daily life that had been restricted and closed due to COVID-19. We will do our best to ensure that COVID-19 ends as soon as possible so that all residents can return to a healthy and vibrant daily life.”
