Dobong-gu Supports Costs for Employment and Startup Certification Issuance

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) announced that it will implement the 'Dobong-gu Residents Employment and Start-up Certification Acquisition Support Project' to reduce the economic burden during employment and start-up amid the COVID-19 period and to support activities for strengthening vocational skills.

Through this project, Dobong-gu residents can not only attend lectures provided by the Korea Qualification Evaluation Institute for free, following the government-academic cooperation agreement signed in September 2018, but also receive support for the certification issuance fees when obtaining certificates for employment or start-up after completing the education.

The support period is from June to December, with a target of 200 people, and the issuance fees for up to two certifications per person will be supported.

The eligibility requirements are that the applicant's registered address is in Dobong-gu, has completed the Korea Qualification Evaluation Institute course (after June 1, 2021), applied for certification issuance, and has registered as a job seeker at the Dobong-gu Office Job Plus Center.

The Korea Qualification Evaluation Institute's supported certification issuance courses include six courses such as Child Specialist Instructor Course, After-school Instructor Course, and Professional Instructor Qualification Course, covering 40 certifications.

Mayor Lee Dong-jin of Dobong-gu said, “We are considering various ways to reduce the economic burden for residents preparing for employment and start-up,” adding, “We hope this project will serve as an opportunity for residents to attempt employment and start-up activities and move toward actual employment. In the future, our district will continue to strive to strengthen the professional vocational capabilities of our residents.”
