Lotte Mart to Hold 'Good Consumption' Event on June 5th for 'World Environment Day'

[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Lotte Mart announced on the 3rd that to celebrate 'World Environment Day' on the 5th, it will give customers who purchase more than 10,000 KRW of the plastic cap-free detergent 'Mugunghwa Eco-friendly Detergent' until the 16th a recyclable 'Gatigayyo Shopping Bag.'

In collaboration with Mugunghwa, the exclusively launched 'Eco-friendly Kitchen Detergent (each 700ml)' and 'Eco-friendly Cleaner (for kitchen use)' are also being sold for 2,000 KRW each.

According to Lotte Mart, as customer interest in eco-friendly products and ethical consumption increases, the 'Label-free Water' introduced in January this year has seen sales grow by about 80% since its launch. The 'Label-free Jujube Cherry Tomato' had the highest sales among products of the same specification. The 'Bamboo Toothbrush,' which started selling at the end of April, has sold an average of about 1,500 units per month, and sales of the plastic cap-free detergent selected for this event are also steadily increasing.

Lotte On, the online mall, is also running the 'Good Consumption Changing the World' promotion. It introduces over 200 products from 19 partner companies divided into four themes: 'Eco-friendly Products' that protect the Earth, 'Social Contribution Products' that warm the world, 'Animal Welfare Products' meeting high standards, and 'Capsule Coffee' that creates shared value and revitalizes local communities.

Lee Sang-jin, head of marketing at Lotte Mart, said, "As customer interest in ethical consumption increases, sales of related products have grown by about 11% compared to the same period last year," adding, "This event was planned to reduce the use of disposable products and encourage the use of reusable products in celebration of World Environment Day."
