"Cultural and Artistic Performances Held at 'Deoksugung Car-Free Street'... Open Until the 30th"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 3rd that it will hold the 'On-Tact Car-Free Street' event on 'Deoksugung-gil.' The event will be operated both as an offline event held on the car-free street and as an online event that allows anyone to experience the car-free street from anywhere.

The offline event and performances will take place on Deoksugung-gil from the 7th to the 30th. The offline car-free street will feature four attractions and activities: small-scale street performances, a vitality photo zone, a mind workshop, and a vitality booth. It will be safely operated in compliance with quarantine guidelines according to social distancing measures due to COVID-19.

Starting in July, the online car-free street will open with various events such as a stamp tour, a stay-at-home car-free street travel experience, and a citizen photo, drawing, and vlog contest.

Baek Ho, Director of Urban Transportation at Seoul City, said, “The purpose of the car-free street is to create a special resting place in the busy city center and establish a ‘pedestrian paradise’ for citizens.” He added, “This year, we ask for active participation in safely enjoying cultural performances while following quarantine rules at the 'On-Tact Car-Free Street,' as well as in the stamp tour and various events starting online in July.”
