Driver Who Caused Drunk Driving Accident and Fled Arrested... Also Rammed Police Car

On the 2nd, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul announced that they have booked and are investigating Mr. A on charges including obstruction of official duties, damage to public property, and drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act.

According to the police, Mr. A is suspected of causing an accident near the Sports Complex in Songpa-gu at around 9:29 PM the previous day and fleeing through Gwangjin Intersection in Gwangjin-gu to near the East Seoul Terminal.

The victim of the accident chased after Mr. A and made a 112 emergency call reporting that "a suspected drunk driving vehicle hit the reporter's car and is fleeing." The police who responded caught Mr. A after a pursuit. One police car was partially damaged, but no casualties occurred. At the time, Mr. A's blood alcohol concentration was found to be at the license cancellation level.
