[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Lotte Mall Yeosu, which opened on the 5th of last month in Gukdong, Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do, is capturing the hearts of Yeosu citizens and establishing itself as a new hot place in the region.
Yeosu citizens, who had to travel to Gwangju or Busan for one-stop shopping due to the lack of such spaces in Yeosu, are expressing satisfaction by sharing Lotte Mall visit reviews and attractions through online communities and SNS. It seems that the thirst for a proper shopping space among Yeosu citizens is being somewhat alleviated.
Lotte Mall Yeosu is a lifestyle mall equipped with living, fashion, and culture that provides both shopping and entertainment and dining. It was newly renovated over about five months at the Lotte Mart Yeosu branch located in Gukdong, Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do.
On the first floor, the H&B (Health & Beauty) specialty brand LOHB's beauty products and health functional foods have been increased 2 to 5 times compared to before, introducing the nation's first 'LOHB's Plus' store.
The store is differentiated by including wine and camping specialty stores, and the ready-to-eat meal section has been expanded to twice its previous size.
On the second floor, there is the 'Pocket Lounge,' a resting space that captures the Yeosu sea through sensory media art, and the 'Crystal Tree,' which is decorated with accessories on a circular pillar in collaboration with the jewelry brand Eungabi.
The region's first luxury brand store, 'Lotte Tops,' is located here. In particular, Lotte Tops is receiving hot attention as sales have exceeded the target by as much as five times due to the concentrated demand for luxury goods in the Yeosu area.
On the third floor, there is the 'Noah Roasting' store, a cafe in Yeonhui-dong, Seoul, introduced in the work "Sikgaek" by Yeosu native artist Heo Young-man. It has become a photo hotspot where about 8,000 customers have visited so far, offering a wide view of the Yeosu sea and emerging as a hot place on SNS.
'Eastern Terrace,' which gathers East Asian gourmet restaurants, is also capturing customers' tastes.
The satisfaction of Yeosu citizens is actually reflected in sales. Since opening, Lotte Mall Yeosu's sales are reportedly exceeding the initial target by more than 50%.
A Lotte Shopping official said, "To stabilize employment of tenant brands and revitalize the local economy, rather than restructuring unprofitable marts, we plan to boldly break away from the existing large mart structure and use the case of Lotte Mall Yeosu as a model for securing competitiveness in the future."
