Enex and Ohaim Anticipate Redevelopment Boom... Will Yoon Seok-yeol's Redevelopment Policy Win Young Voters?

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] Related stocks are collectively rising as former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol is expected to join the People Power Party as early as July. In particular, while the theme had previously centered around stocks related to acquaintances of former Prosecutor General Yoon, recently, as he has shown interest in policies, policy-related stocks such as Enex and Ohaim INT are newly gaining attention.

As of 11:08 a.m. on the 2nd, Enex is trading at 3,415 won, up 29.85% from the previous day. After rising more than 12% the day before, it continues its sharp increase for the second day. Ohaim INT, noted as a latecomer, is also rising more than 8%.

Comprehensive newspapers are competing to report on former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol’s presidential ambitions. JoongAng Ilbo reported that Yoon appears to have started organizing a team with the next presidential campaign in mind. Currently, there are about 20 small teams around former Prosecutor General Yoon managing strategy, planning, messaging, and scheduling, and they plan to form a single, organically connected organizational system ahead of his full-scale political activities.

Yoon’s movements are also having a significant impact on the domestic stock market. On the 27th, Yoon met for dinner with Professor Yoo Hyun-joon of Hongik University’s Department of Architecture and exchanged opinions on housing issues, which are of great interest to the younger generation. Professor Yoo is an urban expert who criticized the government’s public development and predicted the LH scandal. Professor Yoo Hyun-joon of Hongik University’s Department of Architecture previously said, "I oppose new town development itself," and "If reconstruction and redevelopment are activated, everything can be resolved." After meeting with Yoon, Professor Yoo said, "Former Prosecutor General Yoon warned about LH, saying 'monopolies inevitably cause problems' and expressed caution about the concentration of power within the market economy."

The expectation that activating reconstruction and redevelopment will increase household demand appears to have influenced the stock price rises of Enex and Ohaim INT.

Enex operates businesses including kitchen furniture, built-in wardrobes, interior furniture, and interior architecture. Ohaim INT is an online furniture distribution company that was listed on the KOSDAQ market through a SPAC merger in December last year.

It is widely known to consumers under brands such as 'Lady Furniture' and 'Sangil Live.' It distributes products exclusively through online channels like 'Today’s House,' 'Naver Smart Store,' and 'Hanssem Mall.'

Yu Kyung-ha, a researcher at DB Financial Investment, explained, "With the spread of remote work and the trend of online housewarming parties, consumer interest in home interior has increased," adding, "Ohaim INT’s strategy of selling high-quality furniture at reasonable prices has been effective."

He continued, "Ohaim INT’s strategy is to provide 'value beyond price' that encourages customers to return to their brand by maintaining lower prices than major brands," emphasizing, "Ohaim INT is building a solid position in the online furniture market."
