Myongji University (President Yoo Byung-jin) Job Center conducted the "First Half Non-Face-to-Face Online Aptitude Test Intensive Training" from Monday, April 5 to Tuesday, May 4. This training was held entirely online to prevent the spread of COVID-19, with over 120 students participating, including unemployed graduates.
This program, organized by the University Job Center, was designed to support students' employment through systematic aptitude test education. The program was divided into groups according to students' career goals: a large corporation and major companies group, and a public enterprise (government enterprise) NCS group.
The aptitude test training for the large corporation group consisted of a total of 90 lectures, with nearly 60 hours of instruction. The lectures covered four key areas of the aptitude test in depth: language (vocabulary, reading comprehension), mathematics (basic, applied, data interpretation), reasoning (propositions, conditions, shapes, diagrams), and spatial ability (folding, blocks, nets). To motivate students, those who achieved over 50% attendance and progress were given an additional 60-day learning period after the 30-day online training ended.
For the NCS group, intensive training was provided for the essential gateway to passing public enterprise exams: the Basic Competency Evaluation. Through a two-week managed online study program for the NCS Basic Competency Evaluation, concept summaries and practical problem-solving training were conducted in eight areas: communication, mathematics, problem-solving, resource management, interpersonal skills, organization, self-management, and work ethics. The benefits for outstanding participants were the same as those for the large corporation group.
A representative from the University Job Center stated, “To compensate for the limitations of non-face-to-face education, we operated an open chat room for participating students, announcing daily study scopes and conducting Q&A sessions to expand communication.” They added, “Going forward, the University Job Center will continue to provide various career and employment support measures to help students prepare systematically for employment and boost their confidence in job seeking.”
