Selected Agendas ▲ Operation of Village-type Shared Offices for Job Networking Using Local Bookstores ▲ Welfare Care for Vulnerable Elderly ▲ Creation of Online Lifelong Learning Ecosystem ▲ Village Schools with Rest Areas for Residents ▲ Revitalization of Traditional Markets ▲ Establishment of Climate Crisis Countermeasures, etc. 6 Items
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) is holding the "Dongjak Governance Public-Private Joint Planning Deliberation Forum" (hereinafter referred to as the Dongjak Governance Deliberation Forum) a total of three times by agenda from May 25 to June 4.
Since February, the district has selected governance agendas to be put to a priority resident vote through ▲ discovering governance agendas via "Visiting Public Forums" and "Governance Agenda Proposal Contests" ▲ selecting excellent agendas by sector through the "Agenda Discovery TF Subcommittee Meetings" ▲ concretizing governance agendas via the "Dongjak Governance Sector-specific Online Public Forums" ▲ and "Dongjak Governance Regular Meetings" for agenda selection.
The selected agendas are six in total: ▲ operating village-type shared offices for job networking utilizing local bookstores ▲ welfare care for vulnerable elderly groups ▲ creating an online lifelong learning ecosystem ▲ village schools with rest areas for residents ▲ revitalization of traditional markets ▲ and measures to overcome the climate crisis.
First, the district held the first Dongjak Governance Deliberation Forum on the 25th at 3 p.m. via an online video conference.
During the two-hour forum, participants were guided by a governance support expert instructor on the basic understanding of public-private governance implementation projects and the role of the public-private governance execution team, and reviewed excellent cases of governance implementation projects.
Additionally, from May 28 to June 4, the second and third deliberation forums by agenda will be held at the district office’s main auditorium and small conference rooms.
Interested residents, organization members, governance committee members, relevant department officials, and professional facilitators will participate to deeply discuss ▲ governance project promotion strategies and public-private governance directions ▲ exploring problem-solving methods based on private consensus ▲ and detailed budget design.
To prevent COVID-19, all attendees at the deliberation forums are required to wear masks, undergo temperature checks, and strict quarantine measures such as installing protective partitions and maintaining at least 1 meter distance between participants are enforced.
In June, the district plans to conduct a priority resident vote and a 100+ roundtable meeting on the execution plans established at the deliberation forums, both online and offline.
The online voting will use the Seoul M-Voting app, and offline voting will take place at 16 dedicated polling stations set up at community centers and the district office.
Residents can review the execution plans for each project, select their preferred agendas, and vote. The agendas will be prioritized based on the total number of votes from both online and offline, and reflected in next year’s projects.
Kim Hyunho, Director of the Planning and Coordination Division, said, “Through the Dongjak Governance Public-Private Joint Deliberation Forums and the online and offline resident voting in which residents directly participate, we hope that projects necessary to improve residents’ lives and transform the local community will be selected and smoothly implemented.”
