Starting Today, 'Remaining Vaccine' Reservations Available on Naver and Kakao Apps

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Starting today (27th), you can check the remaining COVID-19 vaccines and make same-day reservations for vaccination through the Naver and Kakao apps.

The COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team announced that they will pilot a system for two weeks that allows users to check and reserve leftover vaccines from entrusted medical institutions.

This system will be launched on each app from 1 PM today and will be officially operated from the 9th of next month after supplementing any insufficient functions.

First, when using the Naver app, you can search for ‘Janyeo Baeksin’ (remaining vaccine) on the mobile web or map app to check the location of medical institutions and the available quantity for reservation.

If there is no remaining quantity, you can pre-register on a waiting list at the medical institution to receive notifications and reservation guidance when 'no-show' vaccines become available. Up to five medical institutions can be registered per person.

On Kakao, you can check remaining vaccines by selecting the Janyeo Baeksin tab in the Shop (#) tab at the bottom of KakaoTalk or through the Kakao Map app.

To make a same-day reservation, regardless of your registered address, select the entrusted medical institution where leftover vaccines are available, and click the same-day reservation button on the detailed page to complete the application. Identity verification is required.

Vaccination with leftover Pfizer vaccines is not yet possible. The health authorities explained that the leftover vaccine reservation system will be applied to AstraZeneca vaccines, for which a prior reservation system is already in place.
