[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 26th that 5 out of 6 applicants were selected in the village enterprise contest review. This is the highest achievement in the province.

This review involved 17 enterprises across the province, including preliminary village enterprises, new village enterprises, re-designated village enterprises, and advanced village enterprises, with 10 selected in total. Gimhae City's village enterprises include 2 preliminary village enterprises (Gimhae Gongbang Village, Yeongnong Cooperative Corporation Hyangchon), 1 new village enterprise (Chamgireum Workshop Oil Pressing Teacher Cooperative), 1 advanced village enterprise (Sodam Workshop Cooperative), and 1 excellent village enterprise (Suan Yeongnong Cooperative Corporation), totaling 5 selected.

Among these 5 enterprises, Gimhae Gongbang Village and Yeongnong Cooperative Corporation Hyangchon passed the provincial review and were finally selected as preliminary village enterprises. The new, advanced, and excellent village enterprises will be finalized after a second review by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

A city official stated, "Among the 17 applicant teams in Gyeongnam Province, Gimhae City achieved the remarkable feat of having 5 selected, the most in the province for two consecutive years following last year," and added, "We hope for great interest in village enterprises, which are social economy organizations that solve village problems caused by aging and slumification through profit-generating projects that increase income and create jobs."

Meanwhile, new, re-designated, and excellent village enterprises will sign agreements with the city and start full-scale operations around July, following the final selection based on the second Ministry of the Interior and Safety review in June.
