Leading Search and AI Development at Naver, Kakao

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Junhyung] Startup investment firm Base Investment announced on the 26th that it has recruited former Kakao Vice President Kim Byung-hak as a Tech Advisor. Former Vice President Kim led search technology and artificial intelligence (AI) development at Naver, Samsung Electronics, and Kakao.
Base Investment is a venture capital (VC) firm founded by Shin Hyun-sung, chairman and founder of TMON, and former Kakao CSO (Chief Service Officer) Kang Jun-yeol. Through this recruitment, the company plans to expand its startup support area to include the technology sector. Former Vice President Kim will lead specialized technical consultations more than twice a week for startups requiring technological advancement among those invested in.
Former Vice President Kim said, "I am pleased to have the opportunity to share the know-how I have accumulated over decades from my time at KAIST to Kakao with leading startups," adding, "I will work hard to solve various technical challenges faced by early-stage startups and contribute to the healthy development of the startup ecosystem."
