Full Bloom of Roses: May Jungnang Art Center Planned Exhibition 'Sweet Wonderland' Held

Jungnang Cultural Foundation Hosts Children's Interactive Exhibition 'Sweet Wonderland' at Jungnang Art Center... Exploring Everyday Elements Through Artists' Perspectives

Full Bloom of Roses: May Jungnang Art Center Planned Exhibition 'Sweet Wonderland' Held

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The Jungnang Cultural Foundation (Chairman Pyo Jae-soon) will hold the second planned exhibition at Jungnang Art Center, "Sweet Wonderland," in May when roses are in full bloom.

"Sweet Wonderland" is a word combining "sweet," meaning sweetness or a pleasant feeling, and "Wonderland," symbolizing a fantastic space, conveying the theme of a joyful home where sweet imagination and dreams come true.

The exhibition introduces about 50 works that reinterpret everyday elements from an artist's perspective, including witty illustrations using familiar materials and paper installation works.

This exhibition was planned considering the prolonged social distancing due to COVID-19, which has increased the time spent at home, hoping to remind tired residents of the importance of their familiar homes and families.

Sweet desserts and party props arranged in the exhibition space to match the theme of a joyful home awaken visitors' visual senses and offer a pleasant experience.

Additionally, photo zones set up throughout the exhibition hall and interactive program zones open to everyone will evoke childhood innocence in adults and provide children with diverse exhibition experiences that foster imagination.

The exhibition starts on May 20 and runs free of charge until June 30 in Exhibition Rooms 1 and 2 at Jungnang Art Center. It is closed every Sunday and Monday and operates by advance reservation to prevent COVID-19 infection among residents.

Residents wishing to visit can make a reservation by phone at Jungnang Art Center before visiting. Institutions or groups wishing for group visits can arrange them through separate inquiries.

Chairman Pyo Jae-soon said, "I hope everyone visiting the exhibition will take this opportunity to reconsider the meaning of their familiar home and family during the extended time spent at home due to COVID-19," and added, "I recommend adding joy through the interactive programs held alongside the exhibition."
