Edutech company THE HRDer Inc. is launching XR LIVE, a VR real-time lecture platform for corporate job training. Along with the platform, a real-time maintenance training program will also be unveiled.
THE HRDer Inc. is a company that develops IT-based HRD consulting immersive training courses and builds XR (virtual reality, augmented reality)-based learning platforms applied in educational settings. The newly introduced XR LIVE is a VR real-time lecture platform designed to enable corporate job training managers to conduct remote training in a virtual space in real time.
Until now, remote education was based on video conferencing concepts, but by using XR LIVE, instructors and learners can share the same virtual space in real time through VR even when they are in different locations, allowing for realistic training as if they were in the same classroom.
Depending on the scale of the training, more than 100 participants can connect simultaneously, and all voices and movements within XR LIVE are synchronized in real time among all connected users. Another advantage is that all training environments are provided as actual 3D models, making practical application after training much easier.
In particular, by utilizing the real-time gaze sharing feature, learners can share their practice status from the instructor’s perspective in real time and can also move to other learners’ seats, demonstrating a completely different educational efficiency compared to fragmented video-based video training, the company emphasizes. Instructors can also move directly to practice zones to check learners’ practice status.
Additionally, various features are included such as real-time voice functionality that shares the instructor’s voice with learners via the server, a real-time question function with a Q&A button enabling live interaction between instructors and learners, and a Self-review function that supports individual learning outside of lecture time by allowing learners to complete registered assignments.
Along with the launch of XR LIVE, THE HRDer Inc. plans to release VR real-time maintenance training (XR LIVE Maintenance Training) as its first service for vehicle maintenance trainers. This VR real-time maintenance training is a lecture platform that can educate on new vehicles, parts, and maintenance processes. Learners can learn the exact part locations, maintenance sequences, and procedures from the educator’s viewpoint and can demonstrate the learned methods by directly manipulating vehicle parts with controllers according to the process.
With 6DoF (six degrees of freedom) technology and server implementation, learners can receive training in an immersive environment. The platform is not only based on XR technology but also includes professional instructional design. The device is currently based on Oculus Quest 2, which is rapidly leading the popularization of VR.
A company representative stated, “We can provide detailed and thorough maintenance training as if vehicle maintenance practitioners scattered across Korea and overseas were together in the training venue. We also support updates for new vehicle maintenance training and essential safety and inspection procedure training.” They added, “In the short term, the advantage is improving the efficiency of the training itself, but in the long term, cost savings naturally follow, so we expect many companies to adopt this as the next-generation corporate job training platform.”
