Europe Officially Launches 'Galaxy Tab S7 FE 5G'... Priced at 649 Euros on Online Stores

[Asia Economy Reporter Joeslgina] Samsung Electronics' first Fan Edition (FE) tablet, the 'Galaxy Tab S7 FE 5G,' has quietly launched in the European market. It is characterized by significantly lowering the price as an affordable version of the S7 series, which was among the high-end in Samsung's tablet PC lineup. This move is interpreted as a diversification of the lineup to respond to the surge in tablet PC demand following the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to IT specialized media SamMobile on the 25th, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE 5G was revealed on the German Samsung online store with a price tag of 649 euros (approximately 893,000 KRW). Although orders and sales are currently blocked, the media reported that the purchase button on the Samsung online store will be activated soon.

The site emphasizes the design, camera, and slim form factor of the Galaxy Tab S7 FE 5G with the phrase "Elegant Beauty." Two colors, Mystic Black and Mystic Silver, were initially released. Other colors are expected to be released later. The design is similar to previously leaked renderings.

The Galaxy Tab S7 FE 5G appearing on the online store is the basic model equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 750G, supporting 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Foreign media anticipate that a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model will also be released separately. The display is 12.4 inches but uses a TFT version instead of AMOLED. Additionally, the battery capacity is 10,090mAh with 45W super-fast charging capability. It can play videos for up to 13 hours on a single charge. Samsung DeX and S Pen are also supported.

Initially, the Galaxy Tab S7 FE 5G was mentioned under names such as 'Galaxy Tab S7+ (Plus) Lite,' but it was ultimately confirmed as the Fan Edition (FE). While maintaining the size, the specifications such as the AP processor and RAM were lowered, significantly reducing the price from the 1.1 to 1.3 million KRW range of the Galaxy Tab S7 series.

Samsung Electronics is also preparing to launch low-priced tablets such as the 'Galaxy Tab A7 Lite (tentative name)' priced in the 200,000 KRW range. This is interpreted as an effort to respond to the surge in tablet PC demand after COVID-19 by diversifying the lineup. Last year, global tablet PC shipments reached 52.8 million units, a 54% increase compared to the previous year. According to market research firm IDC, Samsung's tablet PC market share was 19.1% last year, trailing Apple (32.5%).

Industry insiders predict that the Galaxy Tab S7 FE 5G will be officially released domestically and internationally as early as the beginning of next month. Samsung Electronics obtained radio certification for a wireless device (wireless data communication system device) presumed to be this model in Korea earlier this month. Typically, mobile devices that obtain radio certification in Korea are released within a month.
