Annual Sharing Practice Through Self-Established Fund by Transportation Workers
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 24th, Lee Kang-tae, CEO of Jinju Citizen Bus in Gyeongnam, and Park Sang-ho, head of the union branch, visited Jinju City Hall and presented a donation certificate, asking for the funds to be used to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and to overcome the damages.
The 5 million won donation entrusted by Jinju Citizen Bus will be supported through the Jinju City Welfare Foundation to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and assist vulnerable groups and low-income families.
CEO Lee Kang-tae said, “To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the city has deployed disinfection personnel at each city bus garage to support disinfection of bus interiors such as handrails, poles, and card terminals during turnaround, which has been very helpful for our company.”
He added, “Our bus company also made this donation with the intention of providing even a little help to neighbors suffering due to COVID-19.”
Meanwhile, Jinju Citizen Bus has been donating funds annually since 2016 from a fund established by its drivers to help underprivileged neighbors, becoming a model case in the transportation industry.
