Making EM Soil Balls and Environmental Protection Posters
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 22nd, the Gyeongnam Hapcheon-gun Healthy Family Multicultural Family Support Center held a session where 14 families, totaling 44 members of the Family Love Volunteer Group, made EM soil balls and drew environmental protection posters in the large conference room on the 3rd floor of Hapcheon-gun Office.
This volunteer activity involved mixing beneficial microorganisms EM with loess to make soil balls, fermenting them, and then throwing them into streams as a useful activity for purifying polluted stream water. The Family Love Volunteer Group plans to pick up trash around the streams and throw the soil balls on Environment Day, June 5, two weeks later.
During the volunteer activity, participants learned about the effects of EM fermented liquid and soil balls, engaged in a family-making activity, and spent time drawing writings and pictures related to environmental protection to encourage everyone to participate in protecting the environment together.
Mun Jun-hee, the county governor who attended the event, stated, “I hope this volunteer activity serves as an opportunity to rethink nature and the environment once again, and that such activities do not remain one-time events but lead to small daily practices that take the lead in environmental protection.”
