Five Challenges to Overcome the Climate Crisis, Including 'Nolabel' and 'Brave Yonggi Citizens'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Campaigns that families can participate in together to protect the environment, such as ‘using tumblers instead of disposable cups,’ ‘proper waste separation,’ ‘using reusable containers at marts,’ and ‘picking up trash while taking a walk,’ will be conducted.
On the 25th, Seoul City announced that it will recruit 300 Seoul citizens to participate in the Seoul family environmental campaign 'Seoul, Let’s Be Healthy: One Week Challenge' until the 13th of next month.
This project was planned by the Seoul Healthy Family Support Center as an ‘environmental movement for families to participate together’ to raise awareness and improve recognition of the importance of environmental protection and environmental issues in our society.
The project is scheduled to run for five weeks starting in July, and the method of participation involves completing five weekly challenges to overcome the climate crisis, including ‘No Label Challenge,’ ‘Today, Use a Tumbler,’ and ‘Brave Container Citizens,’ with participants verifying their progress on SNS.
Additionally, the Family Seoul website offers various communication and empathy programs tailored to different audiences, such as happy couple and parent-child communication methods, understanding children, and discipline techniques, allowing anyone interested to apply. Customized programs are also operated according to life cycle and family types, including for prospective and newlywed couples, and parents of children and adolescents.
Song Jun-seo, Seoul City’s Family Officer, said, “As social and personal awareness of the crisis regarding environmental issues intensifies, we have organized programs that families can participate in together with the theme of environmental improvement,” adding, “We will continue to develop programs on various themes that families can join so that Seoul families can enjoy healthy and happy lives.”
