[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Employees of NH Nonghyup Bank's Corporate Investment Finance Division announced on the 24th that they visited Eoyupori Village in Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon Province, to carry out rural volunteer activities in preparation for the full-scale farming season.
Vice President Kyungeun Oh of the Corporate Investment Finance Division and employees supported farms facing labor shortages by performing tasks such as plastic mulching in vineyards, planting sweet potato stems, and environmental cleanup activities.
Vice President Oh stated, "Due to the aging rural population, prolonged COVID-19 restrictions limiting foreign workers' entry, and a decrease in volunteers, it is difficult to secure labor in rural areas. Marking the 60th anniversary of Nonghyup's founding, it is especially meaningful to support farms, and we plan to actively continue assisting farms facing labor shortages."
Since establishing a sisterhood relationship with Eoyupori Village through the 'Creating Another Village' campaign in 2017, the Corporate Investment Finance Division has maintained ties through various exchange activities, including annual labor support.
