The 12th Anniversary Memorial Ceremony for Former President Roh Moo-hyun at Bongha Village, Gimhae, Held Today at 11 AM


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] The 12th anniversary memorial service for the late former President Roh Moo-hyun will be held at 11 a.m. on the 23rd at the presidential burial site in Bongha Village, Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province.


The memorial service will be held with about 70 attendees including family members, officials from the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, and politicians, and will be broadcast live online.


The Roh Moo-hyun Foundation announced that former Prime Ministers Lee Nak-yeon and Chung Sye-kyun will attend the memorial service and then pay their respects at the former president's burial site.


From the ruling party, Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung, who paid respects at the burial site on the 6th, and Assemblyman Park Yong-jin, who did so on the 21st, will not attend on this day.


Democratic Party of Korea leader Song Young-gil, floor leader Yoon Ho-jung, Justice Party leader Yeo Young-guk, Open Democratic Party leader Choi Kang-wook, and Assemblymen Min Hong-chul and Kim Jeong-ho, representing the Gimhae district, are expected to attend.


From the opposition, People Power Party floor leader and acting party leader Kim Ki-hyun will attend. Last year, from the opposition, then Future United Party (now People Power Party) floor leader Joo Ho-young attended.


From the government and local governments, Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum, Senior Secretary for Political Affairs Lee Cheol-hee, Gyeongnam Governor Kim Kyung-soo, Incheon Mayor Park Nam-chun, Daejeon Mayor Heo Tae-jung, Ulsan Mayor Song Cheol-ho, Chungnam Governor Yang Seung-jo, Jeonnam Governor Kim Young-rok, Gyeonggi Superintendent of Education Lee Jae-jung, and Gimhae Mayor Heo Seong-gon will attend.


Roh Moo-hyun Foundation Chairman Yoo Si-min, former Prime Ministers Han Myeong-sook and Lee Hae-chan, and former Ministers Kim Du-kwan and Choo Mi-ae are also expected to visit Bongha Village.


The Roh Moo-hyun Foundation has set the slogan for this memorial service as “The twelfth spring, longing has grown into hope.”
