[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) operates a ‘Village Community Professional Mentor Group’ composed of experts in various fields such as environment, culture, welfare, village agendas, and village schools to revitalize village community projects within the district and enhance the professionalism of village activists.
According to Nam-gu on the 21st, the Village Community Professional Mentor Group was established to provide direction for various projects promoted in each village and to strengthen collaboration between village-level project promotion organizations and the Village Community Cooperation Center through customized on-site consulting by field experts.
When difficulties arise in promoting village projects, assistance can be requested from the expert group, which assigns specialized mentors in each field to find solutions.
The Village Community Professional Mentor Group will be active from this month until December.
A total of 12 experts participate, including 5 in the environment sector such as gardens and resource circulation, 2 in the cultural sector, 3 in village agenda fields, and 1 each in museum and mural fields. They will visit local village organizations and serve as mentors to strengthen the capabilities of village activists through collaboration.
Additionally, mentoring by field will be conducted to establish a self-reliant foundation for village project promotion, playing a role in firmly building the ecosystem of village community projects.
Earlier, on the afternoon of the 20th, Nam-gu held a ‘Visiting Professional Mentor Group Workshop’ at the Nam-gu Village Community Cooperation Center to discuss the current status and support measures for village community projects within the district.
A Nam-gu official said, “The Village Community Professional Mentor Group will promote the activation of village community projects and be a great help for village activists to grow further through professional mentoring. We will actively support the smooth promotion of various village community projects conducted within the district.”
